We both downloaded it, stuck in a dual layer DVD and burned it with ImgBurn. Neither of us did anything special at all.

I think that original layer break idea was because they had no idea why their dual layer rip still wasn't 100% functional and that's the easiest thing to blame, but after that some uber smart japanese guy came up with a new ripping method and it's been fine (maybe 4 days after release?)

i tried wi-fi with friend matches a week ago and got like 1-2 sec lag :x.
what are you using to transfer wii screenshots to the PC? or is that just a digital cam

capturing it via computer, but trying to get a good balance of quality and performance so I don't get any video lag... might have a proper solution and if that happens I'm sure Russta will be linking some videos soon enough

And also I too was getting pretty horrible lag spikes, at some points rendering the game unplayable and turns out it was my shitty linksys (no surprise there) wireless router. I picked up a usb lan adapter and it's been perfect ever since. Not sure if it's applicable in your case or not, but if you've got a decent cable/dsl connection without any noticeable problems playing other online stuff, it might just be your wifi (or your friend's)

if other friend-code games (i.e. mario strikers, guitar hero III) are any indication, you can *most likely* play it across regions
